In the new tradition of Wikipedia, WikiPathways is an open, public platform dedicated to the curation of biological pathways by and for the scientific community.

Openness

In December 2008 WikiPathways switched to CC-BY, which is compliant with the Open Knowledge Definition. On the license terms page it says:

WikiPathways content is covered by the Creative Commons Attribution 3.0 Unported license, which states that you are free to share (copy, distribute and transmit) and remix (adapt) the work as long as you attribute the work in the manner specified in our terms of use.
